Hans Bodlaender's invention. During the French Revolution, the nobility (pieces) were no longer protected by their servants (pawns). Instead, they were endangered by them.

You cannot take a pawn on the fourth or fifth tanks. Each side must move first a piece and then a pawn each turn. Stalemate is a draw.
